Elizabeth Kubler Ross speaks a lot about death and dying.
One of my favorite quotes by her is that "You make your own hell or your own heaven by the way you have lived."
She explains that when we die, our version a of hell would be to see all the things we have done and said that have affected others negatively and we will see those effects on them. And our version of heaven would be us seeing the effects of the positive deeds and words on others and this world.
I would truly love to see more heaven than hell after my time has come to cross over, experience more love than anguish or sadness.
So here is my commitment: Today I choose to consciously connect to this world in a positive way. Though I realize that I am far from perfect and will do or say things that may cause pain to others, I choose to do my best to show kindness and love to those around me. At the end of each day, I will ensure that I have accomplished at least one good deed for the day, no matter how small.
I invite you to join me. :)
